From Town Manager Tommy Burns: (Excerpt from April 2009 P&R Newsletter)
The Town of Lillington is very close to finalizing the design of the community center. We have been diligently working with the architect and engineer of the project to put in place a design that is both unique and traditional. We hope to have construction documents ready by the end of May and put the project to bid shortly after that. We are estimating 10-13 months build time on the center. The Town has already received a $500,000 grant from the Parks and Recreation Trust Fund. We are also seeking other funding and grant sources as well.
This project will serve as a benefit for the citizens of Lillington for years to come. We are using space saving design guidelines to both maximize use and provide an efficient floor plan for staff to maintain and observe. This building will be complete with all types of amentias including an exercise room, technology room and an arts and crafts room. The Town looks to move this project forward. The next few months will be very exciting. We are grateful for your continued support. |

(Washington, DC) - U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-Lillington) today announced that the Town of Lillington has been awarded $1.15 million in loans through The American Economic Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).
